If they shutdown cloud services all those wifi-enabled will be busted. This integration does part but still creating areas, learning rooms, etc, require cloud service. Needless to say it has only one local connection so only app or HA but not both.

Perhaps a petition can be set up to ask Roomba/iRobot (since they always have been innovative) to make an agreement hand over the keys to the kingdom in terms of documentation and hostname/IP address of the server to the open source community is they go bust. It would prevent a lot of e-waste. Then they would go down in history doing it differently than what has happened with other companies. And hopefully it might set a president for other companies too.

PS I think this happened to some online games that got canned but community took over running the server. Can't remember which one but worth looking into as a reference.
