What happened to knative-gcp?

Hi there,
I'm just wondering what happened to knative-gcp? It's archived now with a rather meaningless note stating:

This project is no longer actively developed or maintained.

For new work related to this project see Knative accepted as a CNCF incubating project

So it seems the PubSub based GCP Broker implementation is deprecated now and I'm wondering what broker class is recommended now for a GKE based production setup ...

Maybe someone can point me into the right direction?

Project was archived, it looks as if there is no longer a Googler maintaining. I'm not aware of other projects in the space but perhaps someone in the community has a suggestion for what to use going forward.
