Older firmware version

I was running 4.0.2 for about 12 months and recently did some updates to my system and decided I should update the formware on my ESP8266 / NodeMCU, I sent it OTA from the web interface and then the unit would no longer respond to http requests.

I have been able to flash some basic test apps to the board but any time I reflash with Glow it does can I get an older version or some tips on whta might be causing this issue?
(I have also tried another 8266 I have)
I have ordered an ESP32 but I will need to wait and really cant see why this is dead!
