Migrate the gem to work with the newer version of GraphQL #7
Description
There was some work done in the past to make the gem adapt to some of the new changes done in the gem. There is a fair bit of work already committed on branch support-1.8-datetime branch and we should start off that branch.
It is also last reported to work with the version number 1.8.0.pre6 of the gem.
