Use sgci though mounted dir?

This might be a long shot but is it possible to use rtcontrol with a socket that is mounted? e.g.

SCGI_URL = "~/NAS/tmp/rtorrent.socket"

I am running rtorrent on a xigmanas (freebsd) server that I cannot compile pyrosimple on, but my actual machine works fine with it so I thought maybe I could mount the socket and access it that way

BUT

ERROR:pyrosimple.scripts.rtxmlrpc.RtorrentXmlRpc:While calling system.client_version() via <RTorrentProxy via xml for ~/NAS/tmp/rtorrent.socket>: [Errno 111] Connection refused

Agh ignore me I forgot you could mount the sgci socket through the webserver - that worked!
