Hi Nigel, I am a developer interested in permaculture and I have found your project very interesting. I had in mind something similar to what you are doing. I have started with an application in Python for companion plants, you can see it here:

My idea was to built a sw suite for permaculture design, and I am currently scanning the web to check the current state of the art of permaculture projects for not to reinvent the wheel.
It would be great if we can gather all the functionalities in a single application.

Hi Rafa, thanks for reaching out!

Your software is very cool and useful, and its also very different from what I am trying to make. I am working to make a program to layout plants on a grid by dragging and dropping them. The plant information comes from a scraper of pfaf.org which was the first thing I wrote and posted to reddit. Bertrand, the other contributer on the project, reached out and helped lay out a gameplan and added a scraper for permapeople.org.

The companion suitability information that you're adding would certainly be useful, though I'm guessing that the information is mainly available for common garden annuals and fruit / veggies. This could be very helpful for someone laying out their home or market garden.

You're certainly welcome to join in the project if there's something that interests you or that you'd like to add! Any suggestions are welcome too :)

Hello Rafael,

If you need an extra source of reliable data for your companionships I quite liked the (very expensive) reference book series https://www.actes-sud.fr/catalogue/sciences-humaines-et-sociales-sciences/vivre-avec-la-terre-methode-de-la-ferme-du-bec

It's mostly only vegetables and annuals, but I'd love to get related infos with perennials / shrubs / trees if you have any.
