Alpha and Beta Simulations: Why after I changed the parameters of connectivity on GUI, say halve them, the results of the simulation (PSD and spectrogram) made no difference

Something that is important to understand about the alpha/beta simulation is that it is subthreshold, as in there is no spiking in the local network. You can confirm this by plotting the spike raster plot, it should be completely blank. This choice is very intentional, as the publication these simulations are based on highlights that alpha/beta rhythms are believe to be represent subthreshold activity at the EEG source (spiking activity at the thalamus or other cortical regions drives the subthreshold oscillations)

If you want to see the impact of local connectivity on rhythms you can try the gamma simulations which do indeed involve spiking, and are generated by a "PING" mechanism. Let me know if that helps!

Also if you change the parameters of the external drives you should definitely see a change in the PSD/spectrogram
