well I tried a lot also by asking other people knowing the game better but nobody had an idea. when I have a DOS game like the one mentioned, or another, and the game is more static with only fixed images changing by click (menu, backgrounds, scenarios as pixel images) and the user clicks on something on the image (like a menu point) and then the next image appears. What does then happen in DOS and DOSBox-X? Is then just "nothing" in between the two images? Could one set in DOSBox-X the appearance or time or the "nothing"? (interesting is that even the black between two screens seems to be longer when I hold the mouse click down) like here: |

my guess and hope is still that perhaps also in other games some players have already experienced this DOS screen switch with black/off in between (made by the game, I know), so is there perhaps any chance in DOSBox-X that I can minimize this "waiting" or "screen build time in the dark" ? Or is this nothing that DOSBox-X can ever be able? (I tried the CPU and render options without success) |

hello everybody,
I have a question that appears a bit odd but I am not a developer at all, just enjoy playing DOS games.
From time to time there are games that change between screens (inside the game), like by clicking, and in the (short) meantime, then there is a black screen. To that time there was probably no fading or other UI ideas.
So my question would be (to test it) if I can change the Black of the "in between" to some lighter color. Perhaps one would call this "DOS background". Perhaps this will not change the behaviour in the game at all :). Just want to test it.
(I one game I can change the time of the black screen between two game screens when I click and hold the mouse button)
