Manual start and transfer.

I do a monthly manual start & transfer to let my gen run , warm up the oil and look at its output.
I notice it starts and transfers pretty quickly.

Does the transfer time have an adjustment parameter to delay transfer for 30 seconds , 45 seconds , etc. ?

Yes, tf you use the Enhance Exercise add on there is a warm up parameter.

If you are doing this via the buttons on the maintenance page you can push the start button, let it warm up, then the click the start and transfer button.

If you are are doing the test by cutting the mains power, the timing of the engine starting after the power is loss and how long it will warm up is controlled by the controller firmware. Many of the residential generac units have a Start Up delay and a Warm Up delay parameter that can be set via the controller (liquid cooled Evolution models can set this from the web UI in genmon).

Was worried hitting start & transfer while it was running was a bad idea.

Just did the manual start , let the gen run a few minutes then tried to click the start and transfer tab but it does not transfer load.
When its started manually both the start manual and start and transfer tabs are green and the start and transfer button does nothing when clicking it. I had to click "stop generator" then after it shut down the start and transfer button worked.

If it running when manually started the start and transfer button is disabled.

I think that is a limit that was added to the web interface. The goal was to have the web UI know the state and activate appliable buttons so your use case was not a consideration when this functionality was added. You can issue commands via the browser URL like this to work around this.

Use the URL that you normally do but add the portion starting with /cmd like this:

http://192.168.1.10:8000/cmd/setremote?setremote=start
http://192.168.1.10:8000/cmd/setremote?setremote=starttransfer

IF the command was sent with no errors you will get this message text in your browser: "Remote command sent successfully"
