Security of draw.io for Desktop and M365

Dear all,

Could you please help me? I am super lost with draw.io and have a few questions. Background: I am an IT professional in a big company however with zero coding skills (I dont even know how to navigate well here in Github). I often need to create diagrams however I do not like Visio (the default company offering). I have played several times with draw.io in the browser but I would like to formally bring this in the company, ideally as desktop version and add-on in M365.

1. how secure this app is? where is the data stored? I can only see a blogpost from 2019 regarding data security: https://www.drawio.com/blog/data-protection ; what is the status as of today?
2. I understood that the company behind draw.io does not store the data but how can one get a guarantee in that regards?
3. do you know if they have any security certifications such as ISO27001, SOC 2 type II audits etc?
4. what are the actual steps to download the app?
5. what are the actual steps to make it as an add-on in M365? I could only find information on the website for integration with Confluence
6. any clear benefits of draw.io over Visio, to convince my management that we need this?
7. any examples of big companies using it? trends that indicate this is the modern go-to
