Unsure on setting up a Sinclair based competition

Hi,

I am new to this software having recently discovered and wanted to check it out. I got around to understand 90% of what I would need the software to do, which it does well so kudos. The one area I got stuck is setting up a Sinclair based "simple scoreboard". I did try and dig through the google groups form and came across this screenshot of the 52.0.4-rc01 release that apparently solved this. However, this feature seems to have been pulled, or perhaps relocated ever since then. Is there something I am missing, has this been pulled ever since due to issues or is there something I can do to implement it myself, please?

I am aware of the Top Sinclair Ranking Board but its not what I'm after tbh.

What you want is called "score-based medals" in the newer releases. https://owlcms.github.io/owlcms4/#/ScoreBasedCompetitions
You would create an age group with all ages, and all bodyweights, and set the medals to be "Sinclair".

Actually, such age groups are already present in the default file, and are named SM and SF.

Q-Points are the replacement for Sinclair for Junior and Senior adopted by several federations (USA, Nordic countries, Masters).
If you want to keep Sinclair, just edit the age groups to change it.

Note: Sinclair and Q-Points are not appropriate for under 15. If you want to give Sinclair-like medals to children/teens, the recommendation is to create additional age groups for 0-15 bodyweights 0-999 and use Q-Youth as the scoring. You woud then change SM and SF to start at 16,

Ah interesting. I did come across this once or twice, but didn't realise it would solve my issue. Worked immediately, thank you for such a quick response. Apologies for having to ask something you answered previously. The only thing I'll ask now, not a dealbreaker just would be neater, is that it shows two ranks now, the rank by total and rank by Sinclair. Can I remove the rank by total since that information is less relevant to me and my association, please? Finally, this works by not having categories, which makes sense since that is not the goal of it, but just for illustrative purposes if I wanted the relevant categories to still be displayed, without them being grouped, is that possible please? I know this happens when I tried changed the open W and Open M medals option to Sinclair, can be seen in 1st screenshot. I am looking for more something like in the second screenshot, but categories are displays for illustrative purposes (ignore the plus sign, thats me mid testing the solution).

Ah yes. If you create a score-based age group, the score (Sinclair/Q-Points/...) that you selected will be shown on the scoreboard after the total.
If you use this approach, it is best to check this option in the competition rules (if you had a Sinclair-for-grownups and Q-Youths-for-teens as two age groups, they would show in a meaningful way on the scoreboard).
In my federation we always use this option at all times.

If I understand what you would like, this will require you to adjust the CSS style sheets to suit your needs, and to adjust the translations file.
Here is a quick experiment

• There are two additional fields on the athlete, info1 and info2.
• I added XXX as the info1 field for Brown. You could put the "traditional category" there (or whatever you want) for all your athletes.
• I edited the style sheet to enable the display of the info1 column.
• The title comes from a translation file, that you can override. I set it to CAT
• I edited the style sheet to hide the total rank and set it to 0 width.
• I also hid the SM/SF category

BTW, I don't know why there are + shown in the score, that looks like an inadvertant change.
