"e" to edit config

While in the [1] Status page i see the "e" to edit the config file, i get an error : command not found : vim
So. yes i dont use vi/vim/neovim but i do use helix.
So my question is shouldn't it be checking the $VISUAL and/or $EDITOR variables?

Yes, but it checks multiple locations in the following order:

• git core.editor
• $GIT_EDITOR
• $VISUAL
• $EDITOR

Maybe one of these locations contains 'vim' instead of 'hx' ?

In any case you can explicitly instruct lazygit to use helix
