Allow to create credentials without sending them to AWS services

What feature do you want to see added?

When adding a credential to AWS, the credentials are sent to an AWS endpoint to verify them. Unfortunately there are some plugins that use these credential types (for example the Caching Plugin) to store AWS style credentials that are not used for AWS. It would be useful to disable the credential checking if it is not needed.

then they are not AWS credentials and that plugin should not be using these credentials!?

its only checked when entering, this check does not prevent saving the credential.

I understand your point but we have very little influence which plugins use this kind of credential. Some plugins use AWS credentials for S3 compatible storage that is hosted on prem. I also understand your second point but you might understand why it is not the most desirable thing to send internal credentials to AWS.
