Max31856 and high temps for issues

Not sure where to post this but some new adafruit forum suggestions on issues reading max31856 at higher temps. Looks like the max31855 reads slightly different and doesn’t have as much issues.

This was a major issue for me. It doesn't look like anyone can get usable behavior with the max31855 over 900 deg. I can't use the max31855 since I have an S type thermocouple. I ended up using an industrial thermocouple input model and modbus usb reader.

I have used a K type and the 55 chip for several years and firings to cone10 . No problems. Using a battery instead of a power supply makes little sense but if it works...... Ronald. Anger is usually regrettable, kindness rarely.

Excellent! You, my friend have solved the dreaded Error tantrum of max31855/6 " ... short circuit ... " while introducing an industrial level of hardware for this software. Thank you very much for sharing it. I will order the components for a similar build.
