Instructions on how to add to the set

I would like to use more of the simple icons.

I managed to download the set, import the SVG files I wanted into a single inkscape page, and save the resulting set. On giving the document a title, and putting it under .config/inkscape/symbols, the set shows in the symbols list but the icons themselves don't appear.

Would you be able to provide instructions? If I added a few additional icons, would you want me to create a pull request to add them to your sets?
