can we replace django-filebrowser?
the package is outdated and has problems working on newer django versions

these are the packages available if anyone is interested
i really don't know how tinymce works
and i'm on several projects at the moment
so helping on finding replacements is a bit tricky atm

django-filer seems like a candidate. If anyone wants to explore a possible integration, any tentative patch is welcome.

Could you please give us some hints, what is not working with django-filebrowser? I'm using the non-grappelli variant django-filebrowser-no-grappelli with django 5.2 and the only issue I have are the doubled buttons ("new directory" and "upload"). I will try to work on that one the next days.

• It’s not compatible with S3 storage (Storage mixin does not work with boto3 smacker/django-filebrowser-no-grappelli#47)
• Even so, there are error messages during upload, even if it worked
• The UX could be nicer
• It’s very ugly (does not work with django-admin-interface)

btw: The doubled buttons is a bug in django 5.2 (#36331) which will be fixed in 5.2.1 on May, 7th 2025.
