i3 not appear after login

it went blank after I login. it seems direct to tty7. i don't know where to config the direction to i3. i use debian minimal with i3wm

Lidm should scan /usr/share/xsessions and /usr/share/wayland-sessions directly for possible login sessions. But the interface should show up on TTY7 even if there's any failure with the parsing of them. Just to make sure, can you check that there's an i3.desktop or somthing similar in /usr/share/xsessions.

Also just to check, how did you install lidm, I suppose a manual install?? You followed through the systemd installation and enabled the service right?
