The original local APIs on the PW2 still work (ethernet or WiFi). They don't include the extended metrics (TEDAPI) but should include the basics like solar, powerwall, grid, home and soe. Is that what you are seeing? |

Its much worse than Powerwall Dashboard. It's the connection to the Internet from the Gateway1 itself. It fails to communicate even to Tesla. See picture of the dark period from yesterday. I have to use the Tesla app to force it to reconnect via the local wifi setting. Then the Ethernet resumes again. Go figure. I posted this here to see if any other GW1, or other users, were experiencing the same symptoms. |

I found this thread over on TMC that may be the same but its hard to tell as it was only one event and the OP really has not stated the conditions and how they resolved it. https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/powerwall-2-not-connected-to-tesla.346104/ |

I am stumped. I have had my PW2/GW1 combo running on ethernet for many years. Much more solid that wifi, which is known to be true, or was. Twice now the GW1 has stopped using the ethernet connection and you have to go into the Tesla app and select a Wifi connection for it to work. Luckily it appears my WiFi is sufficient so it connects just fine.
But now I am missing most of my data for the day. I really need to finish getting the alerting solution working.
But what I am confused about is that my system has always been set for Ethernet with a WiFi backup. Ever since Tesla add this feature to connect directly to the GW when the internet is not available, I have been having this issue. And the weird thing is that I rebooted all the extenders and APs in the path and the GW is still using the WiFi connection, and has not dropped back to the Ethernet. But PW Dashboard is configured to access the GW on the Ethernet IP. So why did it suddenly start receiving data when the data is flowing over the WiFi IP its not set to communicate on?
So confused!
