Distortion when entering the server

Hi folks, since a couple of weeks my musical friends complain about my bass sound which, as the Germans like to call it, is ‘blubbering’. After fiddling around with my settings (changing between the 64 and the 128 or checking/unchecking the small buffer sizes) it usually goes away. Actually nothing of my own parameters has changed (I did replace my VDSL and am now connected through 1Gb fiber) so what could this be and where should I look? I work on an M4 Mac Mini (also upgraded recently - could THAT be the problem?)and my interface is a Yamaha MG12XU mixing console. Your insights are very welcome,

That sounds to me like a network problem.
I hear intermittent "blubbering" at times too, also on 1G fiber.
This comes from missing and/or out of order packets. Jamulus does do packet order correction up to a certain point, but there are limits.
Often it goes away after logging out and then back in to a server. Maybe a new connection is routed differently.
If every other user is hearing the blubber then it is obviously your connect to the server, if not it may be a general bad day for the Internet.
If you have the possibility try using a different Internet provider.
There is actually not much you can do except hope that the providers keep upgrading their product to keep up with the ever increasing usage.

Thanks, I will investigate wether all users hear my blubber to further narrow down the causes.
