Explore browser capabilities

Push browser js-libp2p on its capabilities at handling many p2p connections in browsers so that we understand the limitations per major browser and per transport. If we find the golden combination that works, we make sure it's well-supported in Go and JS. What levels of p2p connectivity between transports are actually possible in a browser need to be confirmed in 2025.

Expected impact

Realize the opportunities for js-libp2p for each major browser vendor and create understanding for the community (on what’s possible today and in the future). The product of this work should be a document detailing these pieces that our projects depend on, and the upstream issues and documentation.

Key users

The users most demanding this feature within the libp2p community are IPFS and Celestia. However, work we do with web browsers may be widely applicable to p2p frameworks outside of libp2p alone
