@elevatorguy, thanks for providing information about the environment. This will help us to understand the root cause of the problem.

We also need the following information below about the reproducer and compiler arguments. Using that information we will figure out what failed, where and why:

1. Include a code snippet that is as short as possible
2. Specify the command which should be used to compile the program

As for UEFI, we have kernel.c; not necessarily with need for command(s) - repository. It is unlike Intel's EDKII, if you're familiar with that.

uefi-dev and the video series uses clang instead of icx to compile EFI binaries. My fork does not use qemu and I'd like to edit this post with progress/finding(s) as they occur.

@elevatorguy thanks for the reply. Could you please help to clarify a few things:

1. If you have a question, could you please provide more details where and with what you need to get a help, and if you would like to report a bug, could you please provide steps for reproducing + error message?
2. Does this question/problem related to the compiler itself? Or is this related to details of implementation of UEFI/BIOS, e.g., what API should be used in UEFI to get an XPU count?
3. If this is compiler-related question, did you try upstream clang (https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project) (not Intel's icx)? Do you see some differences between upstream clang and icx?

Can't share my phone number in this public forum, so there will be more "technical writing". (took weeks to write PufferAI/PufferLib#213)

With linux; if we have need to troubleshoot, may reinstall to verify the relevant intel packages are installed/configured for my legacy desktop hardware. Have previously edited the post above with sycl-ls --verbose output from the original asus windows driver. (windows update has already put it back to latest)

In the reference linked in the original post - please excuse the broken link, have updated - the file E0017X7.EFI is provided by asus in the network driver .zip which can be loaded for use with EFI_SIMPLE_NETWORK_PROTOCOL as I've done with my fork of uefi-dev.
