The cursed artifacts are "glued" to the hero and cannot be transferred between heroes.
So a hero with a cursed artifact can only get rid of it by going to the Alchemist's Tower to remove or reverse it (#3079).

When the "Game: Hero and Captain have extended inventory for artifacts" option is enabled (#2995), Cursed Artifacts can be moved in the extended inventory and they are always active.

This is an option:
"Game: Cursed Artifacts are "glued" to the hero"

Note: all of this could eventually change. :)
