What if we had a few percent of all rewards dedicated to solo-miners that do share some additional proof of location voluntarily?
Decentralised Proof of location wouldnt be trivial at all. I dont see it as priority, but 'nice to have' later on. For proof of location you could use for example:
Offline-meetups, where people do attest each others presence (poap-like). But it is hard to achieve a trustable consensus across all nodes?
Some proof of lightening detection, nodes stream lightening detection as it happens and can triangulate each other within a country ( check for example https://www.rs-online.com/designspark/building-a-pi-powered-lightning-detector , that required additional hardware is worth less than 50 euro ) But again this works only locally? Maybe it could be verified with openly available weather data afterwards
proof of seismic event, where you mining node is connected to your own raspberry pi earthquake sensor and streams all earthquakes as they happen. Nodes can triangulate each others locations to a few miles acuracy (check for example https://raspberryshake.org/professional-solutions/ , it should be possible to set up good seismic sensors with a few hundred $ maximum) There are not that many earthquakes detectable in europe though. Between such events there could be weeks without signals.
Something involving detecting short wave radio?
I just leave those thoughts here, maybe it is good for something at some point
