🚀 Platform Updates | June 20, 2025

This week we rolled out improvements across AI mentorship, authentication, RBAC enforcement, and Prometheus-based observability. Here’s what’s new across the stack:

🤖 AI Mentor Platform Enhancements

• Expanded RBAC Enforcement Across the Board: RBAC policies now govern mentor listings, detail views, prompts, LLMs, tools, and chat history endpoints. This creates a more secure and scoped access experience for all users.
• Cross-Provider LLM Control + Validation: Mentors now validate LLM compatibility by provider. For example, OpenAI and Google agents are restricted to their respective ecosystems, ensuring clean separation between model types.
• Enhanced Credential Handling for Azure OpenAI Deployments: Deployment credentials are now customizable by model, with automatic fallbacks and full backward compatibility for legacy configurations.
• Improved Chat History + Response Management: Responses are now managed more cleanly in queryset handling. Automated test coverage has been expanded for the chat history endpoint
• Google Agent + Vertex AI Integration: The platform now supports Google’s Vertex AI as a vector store for document-based LLMs via a dedicated runner, including search tool support.
• XAi Added as LLM Provider Candidate: Early scaffolding added to support XAi model integration as a future provider.

💻 Frontend & Auth Updates

SSO Logout Improvements

• Logout behavior is now tenant-aware.
• New API endpoints fetch tenant-specific SSO logout URLs
• client_id now included in logout requests for better context handling

🧰 Backend Infrastructure & API Enhancements

RBAC Role Reusability & Documentation

• RBAC roles are now reusable across users and groups
• Field-level list access control introduced via enforcelistdataaccess
• Full RBAC documentation added to the developer README

Mentor Course Creation API for edX

• New endpoint enables programmatic creation of mentor-backed courses via the edX XBlock.

Python SDK Improvements

• sdk_schema.yml is now included in final containers for easier client generation downstream.

⚙️ DevOps & Monitoring Updates

Prometheus Monitoring & Heartbeats

• Services now emit ‘up’ status heartbeats every 5 minutes
• Alerts grouped and tagged with sendtostatus=true for visibility in external systems
• Health checks and retry logic added to prevent startup timing issues

Prometheus Node Discovery Refactor

• Nodes now use structured metadata (nodeid, is_isolated, LABELS)
• Dynamic template rendering improves accuracy and flexibility
• Hardcoded IPs replaced with smart target resolution

Initial Release of Memorare Tools

• A new utility set, memorare-ops, has been released for small, general-purpose operations tooling.
