Hello from https://quarto.org - reconsider .qmd extension?

Hi there! I'm currently the technical lead on Quarto, an open-source project that shares many of the same goals as Quarkdown. We're super happy to see development and innovation in this space.

Quarto is developed by many of the same folks behind the RMarkdown ecosystem, and Quarto documents are recognized in GitHub's linguist infra under the .rmd and .qmd extensions.

We noticed that Quarkdown uses the "qmd" extension as well. In order to make the distinction between the two projects a bit more clear (and minimize future confusion in eg LLMs that will be trying to guess what the language of the document actually is), would you consider using the .qkd extension instead? Linguist has no applications that use this extension, and it matches the "QuarKDown" name pretty well.

Or you could go with qkmd.

Hi @cscheid, the default extension has been changed to .qd in #90, and it will take effect from the next minor release.
