High ram usage (1.2 GiB)

I encounter abnormally high RAM usage on Hyprland (1.2 GB / 16 GB) on the fairly minimal rice

I don't think it's a memory leak, because RAM usage doesn't increase over time

Could you please suggest what the issue could be, or what additional information I should provide?

OS: archlinux
Hyprland version: v0.50.0-45-g84c5e7445 (hyprland-git)
GPU: nvidia

I saw this dudes post somwhere else and I can confirm that at least on my system it's never been that high. I'm just posting this for reference. I'm pretty new myself on Hyprland so I can't really give good advise, perhaps someone else can. Perhaps 1.1Gib is just fine?

It was due to swww:

exec-once = swww img ~/.config/assets/backgrounds/cat_leaves.png  --transition-fps 255 --transition-type outer --transition-duration 0.8

Ok, I saw some memory issues over there, how did you find out? Just curious ;-)
And I still wonder why Hyprland reports such a hight mem usage...

And yeah, it's a little strange that memory from swww is assigned to hyrpland itself

Did you really felt it, like your system was laggy?

Perhaps one of the maintainers could explain the reporting on mem usage my knowlegde is pretty low on how hyprland works internally...
