Internal server error using reCAPTCHA version 2 #198

Hi all,
I'm in the process of updating a site to Craft 5. All has gone (mostly) smooth until now.
The CFE plugin was set to use reCAPTCHA v2 and as soon as Craft updated to v5 I saw the internal server error wherever there is a contact form being used.
I manged to find that changing the reCAPTCHA version to v3 fixed the error straight away. Changing back to v2 breaks the site.
In the error log I can see the following line:
