Why isn't there a text field component?

Just started using Bits UI—super thankful for all the hard work! I am curious though, why isn't there a text input field component available? What's the best practice to build your own?

What do you mean by text input field? There isn't a ton of headless behavior that would be provided by one of those so we typically would just use a regular ole <input>

Hey Hunter! On the second thought, I guess I see what you mean. It is simple enough natively, and enhancing it with something like validations (making it something like <FormField>) could take complexity from 0 to 10 quickly.
