How should I check or debug

I used a Raspberry Pi PICO compatible board (lower cost) to replicate deskhop. After writing the firmware, the A board light is always on, the B board light is off, and there is no response when connecting the mouse and keyboard. How should I check or debug? Thank you

Check https://github.com/hrvach/deskhop/wiki/Troubleshooting first, I'd guess it's probably wiring because even without being able to talk to the other board, a local usb device should get recognised and the led should blink.
