But not completely. In all cases, you would not need a new line. So, why not just use it as it is at the end and on a new line? Sorry, I am new to this stuff. Your reasoning would help me learn more.

1. when using curl it leaves the shell in an ugly state
2. if you are doing consecutive queries in a script (or code) you typically want each response on a separate line
3. if you cat it into a file it is missing the standard unix EOF ending (which is always an EOL on the last line, no exceptions)
   A missing EOL on the last line is a DOS/Windows idiom.
