Man does this one seem like it is an obvious missing feature.
Once you import a sound file to use in alerts you can't remove it. You should be able to.
I imported a whole bunch of sound bite files to test how they sounded when alert. This was from a sound file collection I had that has a ton of files with sets of sequential names that carry no description of the sound itself. The plan was to narrow down the collection of files I wanted for various types of notifications, then remove them all and finally rename the sound files I wanted and reimport them into Home Assistant.
I can't delete this plethora of files I imported. All I can do is add. If I finally figure out the files I want, rename them and then reimport them they will end up way at the bottom of this long list.
One should just be able to delete the sound files that have been added.
Actually, an even better solution is to make the folder in which the sound files reside be available under the Home Assistant app folder in the iPhone Files app. Then the sound files could be easily managed. The app already imports the files this way. Other apps have a folder accessible by this app. Why not just use the Files app to manage Home Assistant's sound files give the app its own folder accessible via the Files app?
