Backups not using network backup location

Even though HA has had the ability for a long time now to natively use a network path (SMB / NFS) to save backups to, unifi addon backups are always saved locally

I've raised this issue earlier but it got closed (partially due to my fault), but I've checked I'm on the latest version of the add-on (4.1.0) and also HA (2025.6.1).

HA itself is now using a network backup but apparently not unifi. I can't even use a hack like symlink as the network network location is not available in the HA console / ssh

Not the end of the world, but having this feature would make backups much more safe

There hasn't been any activity on this issue recently, so we clean up some of the older and inactive issues.

I can confirm I'm on latest homeassistant 2025.7.2 and add-on 4.1.1 and this is still broken. What's really annoying is that the automatic backup created by HA for the add-on also doesn't contain the backup folder given it's only a link, so the "backups" are not backed up in any way
