Getting started in Java

I came across this project while looking for Java based ml libraries. I am unable to find any complete tutorials, examples, articles, architecture explanation, or books to help newcomers get started. Are these resources available somewhere? If yes, where?

All test cases in core were running. Did you run the command in the root directory or core subdirectory? The previous command line should be run in smile's root directory. BTW, it may be easier to run test cases in IDEs IntelliJ. Smile also provides build scripts for Gradle. If you are familiar with Gradle, try it.
