Several LaTeX commands broken

Dear H5P team,

at Bonn university we use H5P via plugin for the ILIAS Open Source LMS. After performing an upgrade of ILIAS and the plugin several commands do not work anymore, e.g.

• Vectors: \(\vec{1}\) breaks with Missing argument for \vec
• Fraction: \(\frac{1}{4}\) leads to Missing argument for \frac
• Root: \(\sqrt[4]{x-y}\) --> Missing argument for \sqrt

These errors happen with Mathdisplay Version 1.0.7.

If I upgrade Mathdisplay to 1.0.33 the code above is still not rendered but error message has changed to:

\displaylines{\vec}
\displaylines{\frac}
\displaylines{\sqrt}

Have you seen such issues before? Do you have an idea what is going wrong here?
