can I edit the contents of a label

I'm writing a program which needs me to be able to edit whats on the main portion of the screen constantly, Is there a way I can do this other than making a new label each time I wanna change the text on it?

You can declare the Label as global and in the update event you are doing set the text label with the needed message.
