Trimming lines where the staff is empty at the end of a score #1663

Currently a single-line score can be trimmed, probably most conveniently by using gabcsnippet, inside of a minipage.

This requires a lot of trial and error and what I like to call magic numbers.

In this example from the antiphonal, we have what we call annotations but without an initial which by default isn't replicable, so the score wouldn't stretch across the page. (I know that some people seem to have no issue with using (), but it's not ideal, IMHO.) You can use above-lines text or a rubric in your TeX document before gregorioscore or gabcsnippet to place the necessary text. (And I currently am not a big fan of ALT since it is hard to get right…)image

A similar case to this one is the incipit of something like an antiphon (pre-1955 for sure or otherwise for the celebrant who sometimes in my experience hardly sings the more complex chants but needs to intone at least the versicle at the beginning, two antiphons, and the hymn when following 1962, or at least 1962 practice.)

See this forum thread.

Being able to trim away this excess staff is requested. Now, I don't know what to do about final lines in a multiple-line score.

and a few of us did point out that this bucks convention entirely. But hey, I figured that it should be passed on…
