Context:
We use Teleport Community Edition to access Windows Server hosts via RDP from the web user interface. Although basic access to the session works, we are seeing inconsistent behavior when using the clipboard (copy/paste) in RDP sessions.
Problem description
At random intervals during a session, pasting content via the clipboard from the local browser to the remote Windows session stops working.
Symptoms:
Copy/paste works at the beginning of the session.
After a few minutes or certain interactions (e.g., tab switching or inactivity), clipboard synchronization appears to silently break.
The only solution is to refresh the browser page, which temporarily restores clipboard functionality.
Workaround
Refreshing the browser (F5) temporarily restores the clipboard connection.
Clipboard sharing works again until it stops after a few uses.
Tested on
Teleport version: 17.4.8
Browser(s): Edge
Operating system: Windows Server
