Latest release is not available in App Centre or Canonical Snapcraft

When I check the App Centre in Ubuntu, the Gqrx version available is 2.6.1 published 8 years ago:

The same version is available in Canonical Snapcraft:

Update to the latest released version to benefit from packaging and distributing Gqrx in the Snap format, which allows applications to run across various Linux distributions.

Try installing traditional deb package via sudo apt install gqrx-sdr
This package was updated on 2025-05-06, so it should be fine:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gqrx-sdr

Boris, it sounds as if the system is running quite an old version of Ubuntu. For the most recent LTS version of Ubuntu the GQRX version, as a DEB package, is 2.17.4. The version that's in the Snap store (https://snapcraft.io/gqrx-lool) is not packaged, AFAIK, by the mainstream GQRX developers. There is an AppImage for 2.17.7 available at https://github.com/gqrx-sdr/gqrx/releases/tag/v2.17.7. HTH, 73, Robin, G8DQX
