Is it possible to Register the virtual model in any way other than placing it?

I'm trying to implement model viewer in my project. Although, in order to use it, I'd like to register the model in any way (either based on a marker, or an anchor, or GNSS data.

Can anyone please tell me if there exist any options to register the model according to the real world? And how could one do that? Or are we limited to the typical placement + drag of the model?
