Force orientation in mobile web browsers

When launching a web game on itch.io while using a phone, it displays in the phone's current orientation rather than the game's orientation. For example, if the phone is in portrait mode, the game is shown in portrait mode regardless of whether the game is meant for portrait or landscape orientation. If there was a way to force the screen orientation of web games on phones and ignore the phone's current rotation, it'd be possible to make web games for a lot more players.
