I think it could be useful to be able to configure the color (or if someone has a better idea to differentiate tiles that might not have an obvious look or whatever when picking) just for the display of tiles in the selection panel.
I have some tiles in a tileset that i'm using a shader to modify their look, but in the panel where they're selected, they are all just unshaded, and this is reasonable since for some shaders, the appearance can depend on what is displayed behind or some other factors, so for this case, I could see it being useful to be able to configure some kind of visual hint, like color modulation, to differentiate what tile is what, even if it isn't exact to what it'll appear like in-game. I could also see it maybe being useful for some kind of non-visual attribute tiles or something I guess.
The modulation option itself isn't useful for this, as it affects the look of the tile in-game in addition to the shader applied.
I imagine it could just be a checkbox for like, Override Display or Override Selection Display or something then it would show the option to select the color, and it would just always override the display of tiles outside of the game preview or in-game. or maybe it could be a tristate where it can also override the view in the editor preview of the scene.
