Dear @gnudatalanguage/gdlteam
As a follow up to the 1.0.0 release of GDL, we are planning to submit a short paper on GDL to the Journal of Open Source Software (JOSS, https://joss.theoj.org/).
Work in progress on the paper is happening in the JOSS branch:
https://github.com/gnudatalanguage/gdl/tree/JOSS
Let us use this discussion thread to streamline discussion on this endeavor.
JOSS submissions are short (250-1000 words!). Our aim is to promote GDL, to have an up-to-date answer to the "how to cite GDL" question, to summarize key features of the project for new users and to give due credit for the contributors and packagers.
We are also hereby reaching out to all GDL users with a request for feedback on which features (or lack thereof) in GDL would best be outlined in the paper, and any real-life use cases to mention, reference of depict with figures.
Please respond here with any feedback, ideas, content (or create a PR to the JOSS branch).
Thanks,
GDL Team
