Why so easy ? The Upgrading

When about to install openSUSE Leap KDE then I found a review for GeckoLinux and then more reviews and discussions
so why not try seems good and wow after 5 years of constantly tinkering with Manjaro
( good way to learn lots work but lots fun tinkering & learning)
Since November 2021 being on 'this' static Distro this a perfect quiet change into the slow lane
GeckoLinux KDE Leap stays out of the way
The one problem with GL Leap KDE could be one PEBCAK mm was I missing the fast lane hahaha
What I would like to know is how/why it's easier here

or did I not read something correctly
openSUSE forum is a treasure of useful info with wonderful people but it seems to take the harder/more technical approach.
GeckoLinux KDE Leap works beautifully with the hardware I use.

Hi there, thanks for the question, and I'm really glad to hear that GeckoLinux is working well for your needs!
So, it should be noted that there is a difference between updating and upgrading.
The openSUSE instructions you found are for upgrading from one major openSUSE Leap release to another, for example 15.3 -> 15.4. The corresponding GeckoLinux instructions are basically the same thing, but are slightly adjusted to the easier method that I've used for years:

On the other hand, the even simpler instructions you found are for applying small bug and security fixes that are released during the lifecycle of a single openSUSE Leap point release.

Appreciate the reply I know that there is a difference between updating and upgrading unfortunately how they are used is not always with the same meanings depending on the person writing,
I will do it as your link shows during this weekend (weekdays busier) or next ( how did life get so busy) to go from 15.3 to 15.4
seems easier than re-installing with the 15.4 iso when it comes out considering all the custom setups I made,
yeah I could always copy dot home folder but if not necessary I will wait until have to move to SpiralLinux I hear it's also good mm
Just depends what upstream SUSE plans to do now that Leap is jumping into oblivion, what a shame to see it go.
