In a Dilemma to pick on a distro

Hello , sorry to bother you. I have noticed the developer for Spiral linux and Gecko Linux is one and the same , Im a big dilemma to pick on a distro at this period of time. Im a web developer who does casual gaming and some photo editing every now and then. Which one would you suggest me to use Gecko or Spiral (I have a nvidia card btw).

Hi there @Darahaas2001 , thanks for the question. I think a big factor would be whether you want a rolling distribution or a fixed-release model. GeckoLinux Rolling based on openSUSE Tumbleweed will definitely be more stable than Debian Sid (Unstable). But if you want a fixed-release base system with some more up-to-date applications from Flatpak, SpiralLinux might be a good choice.

@geckolinux I think the ISO's are pretty outdated....But the distro is very promising and absolutely loved it

The age of the ISOs isn't really a problem. In fact Tumbleweed frequently goes through total rebuilds of all almost 100% of its packages, and it's common to see gigabytes of new packages within a week if you update that frequently (which isn't necessary). So even a week after their release the ISOs were already "outdated". The purpose of the GeckoLinux Rolling ISOs is to install them and immediately update the installed system. But Tumbleweed and zypper are very good at upgrading, even if a long time has passed since the last upgrade, it will usually just work.
