Quick / temporary / hold insert mode. Or use keybinding to output something as if in insert mode.

By default, in order to use a keybinding like f or / in website, you would have to enable insert mode with i press the key (e.g. f) and then escape insert mode with esc. i wonder if there is a way to be able to output keys directly to the website as if in insert mode, by just holding a key. for example, if you hold alt while pressing f it would be as though you pressed f in insert mode.

If this isnt possible, then how about a keymap that would output specific set of keys as if in insert mode. for example, if i set my keymap to be <c-s-g> and want it to output f as if in insert mode?
