Gantry 5.5.2 was officially released on Wednesday, July 23. This release represents a major step in the evolution of the Gantry framework — focused on long-term stability, modern platform compatibility, and a better developer experience across WordPress, Joomla, and Grav.

Upgrade on a test environment first to make sure everything works as you expect.

Backup, backup, backup!
Before you do anything, make sure you can restore if something goes wrong. The update to Gantry 5.5.x is a one-way process — you cannot downgrade back to Gantry 5.x without using your restore.

Clear browser and server cache after updating.

Template support:
Alongside Gantry 5.5.x, compatible versions of the Helium and Hydrogen themes have been released ONLY. This upgrade has not been tested with other RT themes via Tiger12 - other community members have tested it .Tiger12 (now running Gantry) does not provide free support on Rocket Club Themes. We do offer a paid service to help in any upgrades.

Cosmetic/layout changes:
Some things may look different after migrating, which may require you to write or amend your custom.scss.

I'm really glad you took over the development, well done and good luck. Just a question, previously in WordPress, it was possible to update the framework and the theme automatically through the update channels. Would it be also possible or it's necessary do download it and upload it manually?
Also, the previous version is 5.5.19, should be the latest 5.5.20 (instead of 5.5.2)?

HI @kuldaoo Thanks for the encouragement! Yes I will be uploading the versions to WP and joomla repositories in the next few days and the await their approval. Just making sure on the gantry.org release we aren't seeing any bugs.

It terms of version number we started with 5.2.20. In my headline I said 5.5.2 because when we make the small bug fixes it going up to 5.5.22 - I was just making a general headline on version number.

I found a problem on WordPress. I tried to update 2 sites via the WP update channel, and it reset the template to default. All the outlines, particles and the custom settings and other stuff (custom subfolder) were gone. I had to revert the backup. I'm not able to update.

We just released 5.2.2 with some extra bug fixes. If all goes well we plan on putting this up on the WP and Joomla repositories this week.

@gteigland This was posted a few hours ago on the WordPress.org forum. Thought you'd like to chime in there.

I tried replying there but they deleted my reply (just found the forum emails in my junk folder) saying that you guys need to update things to make it official. They won't even allow a reply to stay there from me.
