Now that we're removing the dependency on Whonix (#456), we could also consider removing the autostart in sys-whonix
. This way we prevent users from getting pop-ups like the ones discussed in freedomofpress/securedrop-client#2277 (image below), as well as the tray-icon . Both will be no longer relevant for daily workstation usage.

Here are some relevant quotes from the above-linked thread:
Maybe we could consider disabling sys-whonix startup on boot to avoid running (and having our users) run into these.
I think that would be reasonable.
