How to send Network data packets using iperf kernel to the wire via QSFP ports ?

I tried your first example of Iperf kernel and synthesized for the alveo u55c board, but I think there should be some driver attached to the device which will show up interfaces for the board and send the Network data packets to the wire ?

Can you help me how did you test the iperf traffic implementing client in user kernel function and sending network data packets to the wire ?

If you run the host program with the iperf kernel on your FPGA node, the corresponding IP will be programmed in FPGA node (shell parameter) and visible from the client node (you can check ip ne command). After that, you can simply launch iperf -s or iperf -c on the client side, since the iperf kernel supports both server and client modes.

Hi @Seong-yeop, after programming the xclbin of the iperf kernel on the Alveo U55C card, I am not able to see the cmac kernel being programmed, only the iperf kernel, and the network kernel is seen by the following command :

• xbutil examine -d 0000:9d:00.1 -r dynamic-regions

Could you please give any guidance related to it. I am not able to run the iperf kernel. Is there any issue related to post-synthesis.tcl script which connects the GT pins to the CMAC kernel?

I can't see the CMAC kernel either. It doesn't matter to use iperf kernel on U55C.

Hi @Seong-yeop, after programming the xclbin of the iperf kernel on Alveo U55C, I am not able to run the iperf kernel. The link is not detected.

In the current setup, I have a wire connected between the Alveo U55C and the Intel smart NIC 100 Gbps card. But the link is not detected between them. Did I miss out on something related to the setup. Thanks for any help in this.

If your iperf kernel has been successfully loaded, you can check the IP address (using ip neighbor command) configured for it—either through host program arguments or environment variables—on your Intel NIC node.
