Dashboard terminal command lingers

So i have added a section to show the git status of my cwd and it shows up on the dashboard just fine but as soon as I enter a buffer a window lingers with the output of said section command... doesnt seem right.

Here's my section config

Unrelated but if i pick any item from the files picker or from recent files i also get this error so i have to "open" the file twice for it to load.
Seems like the dashboard has problems trying to remove itself.

I am having the same issue, It seems section="terminal" used floating window which always stay drawn on top, anchored in some way.
The only solution I can think of is storing the output directly in the buffer lines (instead of a float). That means:

1. Capturing or generating the command output (e.g. from git status or colorscript or pokemon-colorscripts).
2. Converting it into strings.
3. Inserting them into the dashboard lines as normal text (like how the header or keys sections do).

Àfter trying out some options it seems the issue is Neovim can’t interpret ANSI escape codes in a normal buffer automatically. So using a floating terminal is the simpler option.

Turns out my problem was an extra auto group launching the dashboard on it's own causing the error of removing something that's gone.

Ensure you have no autocmds launching the dashboard let the plugin hook it for you
