Disable intent for certain filetypes

When viewing a markdown file, the indent line is always shown in the line under the current one if empty.

This doesn't seem to do much for me, so I tried disabling it for that filetype:

This however doesn't change the behavior.

Am I missing something? Is this a bug?

The code you posted works for me.

However, it somehow enables indent in other buffers that don't have indent guides by default (which-key, fzf-lua, etc.)

It does work, I had an error in my config which I did not notice before posting this discussion (big facepalm moment).
I do no t see the behavior you are describing but I'm guessing that applying this setting overrides the default filter function, so returning vim.g.snacks_indent ~= false and vim.b[buf].snacks_indent ~= false and vim.bo[buf].buftype == "" and vim.bo[buf].filetype ~= "markdown" instead of vim.bo[buf].filetype ~= "markdown" might preserve the original behavior instead of overriding it?
